Is this really free? +
Yes. Each visitor gets a small number of free checks per day with no signup and no card. Once the shared daily allowance for this free tool runs out, the page still loads — you'll just be pointed to a free account instead of a result.
Do you store the phone number I submit? +
We don't write it to a database, and it's never saved to your browser session. It may be held briefly in a fast in-memory cache so an identical repeat lookup doesn't need a fresh check — that expires automatically. On the rare check that fails at our upstream provider, a masked version of the number may briefly appear in our internal error logs for troubleshooting — never the full number. See our
Privacy Policy for details.
Do you call or text the number? +
No. The check never places a call or sends a message to the number — it only looks up carrier and risk data about it.
Do you return the phone owner's name? +
No, never — not here and not on an account. We don't return or store the subscriber's name associated with a number under any plan.
How is this different from the API? +
Same underlying score, a reduced set of fields, and a form instead of a REST call. There is no free JSON endpoint for this tool — every result is rendered on this page only.
What do I get with an account? +
The full result — carrier, line type and location detail — plus 25 free credits, an API key, and no daily cap.
