Terms of Service
Effective 2026-09-20
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FraudNova (the "Service"). "We", "us", and "our" refer to FraudNova, the operator of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
FraudNova is a REST API that returns a fraud-risk score and risk signals for IP addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers you submit, using a shared pool of upstream data providers. Scores are probabilistic indicators, not statements of fact about any person, and must not be the sole basis for any decision with legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials and API keys secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts to abuse free trial credits.
4. Credits and payment
- The Service is prepaid. You purchase credits; one check — of an IP address, email address, or phone number — consumes one credit.
- Credits are non-refundable and have no cash value, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
- Card payments are sold and processed by Polar Software Inc. acting as merchant of record (Polar's own terms govern the card transaction); cryptocurrency payments are processed by NOWPayments. We never receive or store card or wallet credentials.
- Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute in bad faith is a breach of these Terms and may result in suspension.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service unlawfully or to:
- submit IP addresses, email addresses, or phone numbers for which you have no lawful basis to process the associated data;
- resell, sublicense, or expose the raw Service to third parties as your own scoring product without authorization;
- exceed or circumvent rate limits, probe, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- use results to unlawfully discriminate against, harass, or harm any person.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of IP-scoring results complies with all laws applicable to you, including data-protection and anti-discrimination law.
6. Availability and changes
We provide the Service on a commercially reasonable best-effort basis and may modify, suspend, deprecate, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
7. Intellectual property
We and our licensors retain all rights in the Service, its software, and its documentation. You retain rights in the data you submit. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Risk scores may be incorrect; you use them at your own risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FraudNova will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, suspected abuse or fraud, or to comply with law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Unused credits are forfeited on termination for breach.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Pakistan will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your place of residence.
14. Data processing (business customers)
If you use the Service as a business customer acting as a data controller under data-protection law, our Data Processing Agreement at /dpa forms part of these Terms and governs our processing of personal data on your behalf.
